Congratulations to the 2025 Hall of Fame Inductees
In left to right order (in the photo):Derek Kingshott - Derek graduated from Zeeland West in 2008 as an accomplished student-athlete participating in basketball, football and track and field. In basketball, Derek was a two time all conference player in the 2007 and 2008 season and was named to the BCAM All-State Team following the 2007-08 season. Similar to basketball, Derek was a two time all conference football player, two time member of the Holland Sentinel All-Area team, member of the Grand Rapids Press Dream Team in 2006 and a member of the Zeeland West State Championship football team in 2006. On the track, Derek was all conference in 2008 and was a member of the Track and Field State Championship Relay teams in both the 1600 and 3200. Dux Golfers Finish 4th
Boys Varsity West GolfZeeland West Varsity Golf secured fourth place at the OK Black Conference Tournament with Mike Girman and Logan Bomers receiving All-Conference recognition. The Zeeland West varsity golf team achieved a successful outcome at The Ravines Golf Club where they finished fourth among multiple teams in the OK Black Conference Tournament. At the Ravines West’s sophomore, Mike Girman placed seventh with a score of 77. The team's scoring was completed by senior Graham VanDort with an 80 and senior Tyler Baumann with an 84, and senior Logan Bomers who shot a 79. The OK Black All-Conference Team selected both Girman and Bomers for their outstanding performance throughout the season. The second all-conference honor for Girman, while Bomers achieved his fourth All-Conference selection of his high school career, which demonstrates his enduring leadership abilities. Boys Varsity West GolfThe West varsity golf team placed 6th at the Regional Tournament held at Stonehedge North Golf Course today. Seniors Tyler Baumann and Graham VanDort led the Dux with a pair of 81's. Senior Logan Bomers and Sophomore Mike Girman had a pair of 84's. The Dux finished their season today. Special thanks to our seniors —Tyler Baumann, Logan Bomers, Hayden Glennie, Keagan Louwerse, and Graham VanDort — for their contributions to the West golf program over the years.

Girls Varsity West GolfWest Girls Golf - Fall 25' Team tryouts will occur on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Kris Tees Driving Range on 96th. Players are reminded to take care of everything on FinalForms (green across the board) to tryout on August 11 except the small fee to participate. This includes a yearly physical that needs to be completed each school year. We will work on the driving range and putting green at 8:00 a.m. and will end at 9:30 a.m. After the first try-out players will be invited back for a second try-out on Tuesday, August 12 at Kris Tees at the same time and procedure as the previous day. We will play 9 holes at Crestview Golf Course in Borculo on Wednesday the 13th at 7:30 a.m. Team selection will be made (if necessary) and a team meeting will take place following the try-out on Wednesday so players should arrange their schedules accordingly. Zeeland Girls Water Polo Season Ends in Loss to West Ottawa
Girls Varsity Water Polo Co-opZeeland Girls Water Polo team lost to West Ottawa 11-17 at the West Ottawa Natatorium on Friday night at districts. Coach Geschwendt said, “We started off well but they made a big run midway through the 2nd and 3rd quarter and we just couldn’t catch back up. Never gave up and I’m very proud of that, with many different girls contributing to the game.” The team played a hard close game fighting to get a spot at regionals. With a sad loss bringing their season to an end. The girls fell behind in the first half but pulled themselves back with 6 goals in the 4th quarter.So. Molly Meyring scoring 4 goals, Sr. Ava Levandoski with 2 goals, Fr. Aynslee McKenney with 3 goals, and goalie Sr. Emily Pyle with 12 blocks. Sophomore Mike Girman led the Dux with a 77 and finished 7th overall. Senior Logan Bomers added a 79, Senior Graham VanDort an 80, and Senior Tyler Baumann an 84. Congratulations to Mike and Logan for being named to the OK Black All Conference Team due to their consistent play throughout the season! This is the fourth year Logan and the second year Mike have been named to the all-conference team. The team travels to Stonehedge North Golf Course on Tuesday, the 27th, to compete in the MHSAA Division 2 Regional #8 Tournament.

Boys Varsity West SoccerWe are quickly approaching summer and with that we are gearing up for a busy summer of soccer opportunities that will begin the week after school lets out. We once again will be playing in the Holland Summer league on Tuesdays and will have our open fields on Thursdays. Attached to this flyer are the dates and times of everything we are offering including the summer league schedule and also an off-season training regimen which will help get your son in shape for the upcoming season. We also have our team camp registration which will take place from July 14-18. Please let me know if you have any questions! Girls Varsity West SoftballThe West softball team dominated Holland, 30-0, on Tuesday night at home. The first inning started off strong with five walks scoring five runs. Sr. Madison Wycoff and Sr. Emily Kragt both hit singles ending the inning 15-0. Jr. Megan Strabbing hit a ground ball to end the start of the second inning 16-0. At the top of the third the DUX scored 14 runs ending the game in a mercy 30-0. Coach Kayla Smart commented, “I think we did a pretty good job keeping our environment upbeat due to the circumstances. We saw the ball well and took a lot of walks with good eyes at the plate and swung at good pitches. Our pitches threw what they needed to do and threw strikes. It was pretty fun to see them do a no hitter.” Strabbing added, “It was a tough game to stay in mentally but we battled the whole time very hard.”

Boys Varsity West GolfThe Zeeland West Varsity Golf team put together a strong performance on Monday at the OK Black Holland Jamboree, held at Clearbrook Golf Club. The Dux finished in 4th place, only three strokes behind the first-place team in a very close competition.Soph. Mike Girman led the way for Zeeland West with a score of 39. “My swing wasn’t feeling great, but scrapping it around and making some good putts helped a lot,” Girman said after the round.Right behind him, senior Logan Bomers shot a 40. Senior Tyler Baumann added a 41, and Senior Graham VanDort finished with a 42 to round out the team’s scoring.Despite narrowly missing out on a top-three finish, the Dux showed they can compete with the best.
