The West softball team dominated Holland, 30-0, on Tuesday night at home. The first inning started off strong with five walks scoring five runs. Sr. Madison Wycoff and Sr. Emily Kragt both hit singles ending the inning 15-0. Jr. Megan Strabbing hit a ground ball to end the start of the second inning 16-0. At the top of the third the DUX scored 14 runs ending the game in a mercy 30-0.  Coach Kayla Smart commented, “I think we did a pretty good job keeping our environment upbeat due to the circumstances. We saw the ball well and took a lot of walks with good eyes at the plate and swung at good pitches. Our pitches threw what they needed to do and threw strikes. It was pretty fun to see them do a no hitter.”  Strabbing added, “It was a tough game to stay in mentally but we battled the whole time very hard.”
