Zeeland Girls Water polo lost to East Kentwood 6-12 on Tuesday, April 22, at the Zeeland Natatorium.
The game started close with lots of back-and-forth movement; however, as the game went on, East Kentwood began to get ahead, and Zeeland struggled to catch up.
Coach Zac Geschwedt shared, “We played a really competitive game. That was probably our best game of the season in terms of doing all the little things right. It was tied 5-5 midway through the third quarter, and we just kind of ran out of gas. That’s part of having a small team this year, but I am very happy with the way the girls played, and we’ll continue to get better.”
The highest contributor was Soph. Molly Meyering with 3 goals. Next highest was Sr. Ava Levandoski, scoring 2 goals.
Ava Levandoski commented, “We played really well. We scored some good goals and had really good defense. It was an unfortunate loss, but we played really well and I’m proud of our team.”
