Hi, my name is Diana Albers and I am the Zeeland West Athletic Trainer. I have been working as an athletic trainer for over 19 years and I’ve spent the last 16 of them at a local high schools. I started at Zeeland West in December of 2014.
I am contracted to Zeeland West from Corewell Health. Being an employee of Corewell Health gives me direct access to many area physicians and health care providers that I might not otherwise have access to. Plus this gives me a group of athletic trainers that I regularly work with to maintain and improve my skills.
I received my undergraduate degree in athletic training from Hope College and my masters of science in athletic training from Indiana University. While I was at Indiana University I had the opportunity to work as a graduate assistant with Division I athletics. I then worked at Alma College (DIII), serving as an assistant athletic trainer and instructor of athletic training before coming back to West Michigan. Having working in a variety of athletic training settings I can say that I truly love working in the high school setting. Getting to know the athletes on a personal level and watching them improve and mature is very rewarding.
I am nationally certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) in Athletic Training and licensed in the state of Michigan as an athletic trainer. I also serve as a preceptor for Grand Valley State University Athletic Training Education Programs. As a preceptor, I regularly have athletic training students who observe and work with me in the athletic training room and on the field.
I live in Zeeland with my husband, James, two kids and 2 dogs.
