Hello All,
I can't believe we are already going to be starting next week, but here we go. I would love to say that we will be outside right away, using all the courts we have, but sadly that does not look like it's going to happen. In fact the chances of us getting outside before spring break aren't looking great either as we are projected to have temps in the 30's to 40's for the foreseeable future, but there is a chance of a warm up next week so we’ll keep our fingers crossed. If we go outside I will email as soon as I can make that decision and we will go from 3-5 that day
I wanted to send you a quick rundown of what next week will look like and also let you know about what we will be doing for uniforms this year. First things first though, below you will find a rundown for week one:
Schedule for 3/11-3/15
Monday:
-All Players @ Sportsquest (3-5), this will be a packed session as we already have 38 girls signed up. Some players will be leaving early as they will be attending the session later that night.
-Selected players @ Dewitt (9-11). This will be a session where the following players will be attending this session with challenges and some drills.
Tuesday:
-Selected Players @ Sportsquest (5:30am-6:50am)
-Players who did not attend morning session @ Sportsquest (3-5)
Wednesday:
-All players not attending Dewitt @ Sportsquest (3-5)
-Selected players @ Dewitt (9-11)
Thursday:
-Selected Players @ Sportsquest (5:30am-6:50am)
-Players who did not attend morning session @ Sportsquest (3-5)
Friday:
-All Players @ Zeeland West: Conditioning (3-4)
-Selected players @ Dewitt (5-7)
Saturday:
-Open hit session @ Sportsquest (7-8:30). This is not mandatory, just an opportunity to get some hitting in if you would like. We would like to keep this to 10 to 12 girls as we only have access to two courts. Please let myself or Coach Towne know if you plan on attending this.
-Selected players @ Dewitt (4-6)
*As the week progresses the “Selected Players” could change. Myself and Coach Towne will communicate with individual players if they will not attend a session or if they need to come to a session.
Uniforms for the Season
-We are still in the process of ordering uniforms. For those of you who have been on the team in the past it is the same process as last year, but for those of you who are new I will provide a little insight. We are ordering 3 pieces this year (skirt, top, and ¼ zip). The athletic office will cover 25 dollars of the cost and the players pay the remaining balance. The amount that the players have covered in the past ranges from 30 to 40 dollars. We should be in that range again this year. The great thing about this deal is that each player gets to keep everything that we order. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me
Odds and Ends
-We will be having a parent meeting the second week of the season. I will communicate that as soon as we nail down a day.
-We will be doing a fundraiser this season (a pop can drive). I will be sending out more info on that once I meet with the girls who will be organizing it. Look for an email next week regarding this.
-We will be setting up a team store to order clothing. This is not required, but more for girls who would like extra gear, or for parents, siblings, grandparents, etc… Right now the plan is to have the store open from March 13th-March 27th. I will be sending out an email next week once we finalize the store.
