Zeeland West Soccer beat Hamiliton by a score of 1-0 on Monday at Zeeland. Coach Andy Hondorp stated, “I think we played really well today. I thought the guys came prepared. They came out ready to play, senior led, fought to the end, and walked away with a victory.”
With 8 minutes left in the game Jr. Isaac Lambrix scored the winning goal and brought a lot of energy back into the game.
Lambrix said “We started off a little shaky and then turned it around. I love that it was senior night, to get them all out and starting. We were really strong, especially in the last 15 minutes.”

Zeeland West lost to Holland Dutch by a score of 0-3 on Monday, September 30 at Holland. Coach Andy Hondorp stated, "I thought our guys played super well tonight offensively. We are seeing things we could not see a few weeks ago." He said they do not love being on this side of the win column, but they will keep pushing.
As they move forward, Zeeland West remains committed to refining their skills, strengthening their teamwork, and facing future challenges with the same determination and positive attitude displayed in this game.
Jr. Zach Anderson said, "We stuck with them and just played our game. I thought we focused on defense but gave up a couple of not-so-good goals."
Zeeland West and Zeeland East Soccer ended in a 1-1 tie on Monday at Zeeland West. Coach Andy Hondorp expressed his pride in the team's performance, stating, “This has probably been the best eighty minutes of soccer we’ve played all season, offensively and defensively.”
Sr. Pace Bittrick scored the only goal for the Dux in the first half, and the game was running back and forth intensely throughout. Bittrick said, “As a team, we were interconnected. Unfortunately, we didn't get the desired outcome, but I'm very proud of how our team played.”
Zeeland West soccer fell to Plainwell by a score of 0-1 Thursday at Zeeland. Coach Andy Hondorp explained that our offensive side has been our biggest struggle this season. He said, “I thought we played well enough to win tonight, but they connected on their opportunity and we just weren't able to quite find the back on the net.”
The coach also discussed the team's defensive improvements and how it finally continued to take shape in the game.
Senior Joel Meengs added, “ I thought we were able to find more success in our offensive third which will translate into later games.”
