The Dux JV soccer team extended their post-spring break unbeaten streak by defeating the Chix 2-0. The Dux scored a goal in each half. After winning a ball near midfield, Brooklyn Geerlings played a beautiful ball into space in front of Amarra Blattner on the right side. Blattner drove past two defenders and drove a low cross back across the Chix goal. Rylee Smith found herself alone and unmarked on the back post and buried the ball in the back of the net.

In the second half, it was an attack on the left side that put the game out of reach for the Dux. Marissa Ybarra got around a defender and slotted a ball back towards the top of the penalty box. Bella Cifuentes made a great dummy run on the ball, drawing a defender and letting the ball slip past to Amarra Blattner. After a great first touch, Blattner slipped her shot past the keeper to make it 2-0.

The Dux defense was again stout and tough, limiting the Chix to few scoring chances. Abby Habers, Ally Younker, Rylee Terpstra and Caiti Grant were well organized and initiated the Dux offensive attack from the back. Lindsey Anderson, Bree Stine and Audrey Caywood played solid minutes in back as well, keeping the Chix offense at bay. Samarah Anderson made 3 saves between the pipes to earn the shutout.
