Madison Wyckoff collected four hits in five at bats, as Zeeland West Varsity Dux defeated Rockford Varsity Rams 10-5 on Thursday. Wyckoff singled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the seventh inning.

Zeeland West Varsity Dux got on the board in the first inning after Bri Kamer singled, scoring one run.

Rockford Varsity Rams made the score 4-1 in the bottom of the first after an error scored two runs, Ellsie Ritsema laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run, and Tori Sloan doubled, scoring one run.

Zeeland West Varsity Dux jumped back into the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Rockford Varsity Rams committed an error, and Kylie Glass grounded out, each scoring one run.

Molly Amshey grounded out, which helped Rockford Varsity Rams tie the game at five in the bottom of the fifth.

Zeeland West Varsity Dux took the lead in the top of the sixth. M Schuler induced Megan Strabbing to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, to give Zeeland West Varsity Dux the leg up, 6-5.

The top of the seventh sealed the deal for the Dux when they picked up four runs on four singles.

Wyckoff earned the win for Zeeland West Varsity Dux. The pitcher gave up two hits and five runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking four. Schuler took the loss for Rockford Varsity Rams. The hurler went six innings, giving up nine runs on 13 hits, striking out three and walking two.

Zeeland West Varsity Dux amassed 14 hits in the game. Kamer provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Zeeland West Varsity Dux with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Strabbing collected three hits for Zeeland West Varsity Dux in five at bats. Emily Kragt led Zeeland West Varsity Dux with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Wyckoff stole two bases.
