A walk-off left Zeeland West Varsity Dux on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat to West Catholic Varsity Falcons on Thursday. The game was tied at two with West Catholic Varsity Falcons batting in the bottom of the seventh when Sophie North singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. West Catholic Varsity Falcons pitchers struck out 12, while Zeeland West Varsity Dux sat down six.
Alexa Brott started the game for Zeeland West Varsity Dux. The righty went six and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, striking out six and walking one.
