Zeeland West Varsity Dux defeated Holland Dutch Varsity 16-1 on Tuesday thanks to a timely 11 runs in a big third inning.  The offensive onslaught came from doubles by Maddie Wyckoff, Alexa Brott, Izzy Zamora, and Cora Mielke, a walk by Maddie Veersma, a triple by Carly Sleeman, a groundout by Zamora, and a fielder's choice by Mielke.

Zeeland West Varsity Dux evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning when Sleeman doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Zeeland West Varsity Dux pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning.  In the second Makena Moungkhoun drew a walk, scoring one run and Veersma singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Zeeland West Varsity Dux notched 11 runs in the third inning. 

Wyckoff took the win for Zeeland West Varsity Dux. The righty allowed four hits and one run over four innings, striking out eight and walking zero.

Sleeman went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Zeeland West Varsity Dux in hits.  Zeeland West Varsity Dux tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases.
