Zeeland West Varsity Dux fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 9-4 loss to Zeeland East Chix Varsity on Tuesday.  Zeeland East Chix Varsity scored on a triple by Katie Carlson, a single by Ella Hathaway, and a single by Emme Meyering in the first inning.

Zeeland East Chix Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning, when Carlson tripled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Reese Gruppen led things off in the circle for Zeeland East Chix Varsity. The fireballer allowed six hits and three runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Maddie Wyckoff started the game for Zeeland West Varsity Dux. Wyckoff allowed six hits and five runs over five innings, striking out five.  Emily Kragt threw two innings in relief.

Carly Sleeman went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Zeeland West Varsity Dux in hits.

Zeeland East Chix Varsity tallied 12 hits.  Megan Kuzma, Gruppen, Carlson, and Meyering all had multiple hits for Zeeland East Chix Varsity.  Kuzma led Zeeland East Chix Varsity with three hits in four at bats.
