WAYLAND UNION HIGH SCHOOL: 14
Dux couldn't get the bats going in game two of the double header and Wayland took the game easily 0-14.
Emily Brands took the loss for the Dux. She threw three innings allowing eight runs on ten hits, striking out zero and walking one. Addison Verplank came in to throw a partial inning and Alexa Brott came in for the final out.
Dux offense was held to only four hits. Elexia Fuentes, Taylor Zwagerman, Carly Sleeman, and Emily Brands all had singles.
"Wayland is a solid team. We knew that coming in, and we wanted to see how we could compete. We did that in game one, but ran short on pitching a bit in the second game. Our team learns a lot and plays hard and will pick themselves up and be ready for our predistrict game next week."
