FOREST HILLS CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL: 0
Dux took the early lead scoring one in each of the first and second innings. They added three more in the fifth with back to back home runs by Carly Sleeman and Elexia Fuentes to shut out the Rangers 5-0.
The Rangers put the ball in play, but the Dux answered with strong defense. Including a 4-6-3 double play by Sleeman to Lily Brower to Jordyn Smeyers.
Emily Brands got the win on the mound for the Dux. She threw seven innings allowing no runs on five hits, striking out two and walking zero.
Dux offense was led by Fuentes and Brower who went 2 for 4. Brower with a double and a triple. Jordyn Smeyers, Brands, Sleeman, and Morgan Patrick all contributed hits in the victory.
Dux improved to 21-5 on the season
