Dux Varsity Softball sweep Reeths-Puffer winning game two 16-8

Dux started game two quickly jumping ahead to a 7-0 lead. The good Rocket team fought back getting the game to 8-7 in the fourth before the Dux pulled away and took the win 16-8.
Pitching duties were split in the win for the Dux. Alexa Brott started the game going 3 1/3 innings. She allowed 7 seven runs on 5 hits, striking out 5 and walking 6. Emily Brands came in and got the win pitching 3 2/3 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits, striking out 2 and walking 1. It was a nice collective effort on the mound.
Dux offense was rolling putting up 13 hits. Led by Carly Sleeman who went 3 for 5 driving in 4 runs with a single, double, and triple. She also had 3 of the 7 stolen bases. Lily Brower hit her first home run of the season and went 2 for 4 driving in 2 runs. Addison Verplank went 2 for 4 as well driving in 2 runs and stealing 3 bases. Elexia Fuentes and Brands had multi hit games and Taylor Zwagerman and Morgan Patrick contributed hits.
Dux improved to 2-0 in conference play and 4-1 overall. Dux travel to Whitehall this weekend for a tournament.
