Dux took the lead in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back. Lily Brower doubled to center field, and advanced to third on a past ball. Then Kenzie Siersma hit a sacrifice fly ball to center to allow Brower to tag up and score.

The Dux added three more in the fifth inning when Brinzie Kalkman started things off with a single to left and was moved over nicely by Jordyn Smeyer's sac bunt. Brower walked with two outs and Siersma hit a single up the middle to score Kalkman. Siermsa moved up to second with good base running. Elexia Fuentes then dropped a fly ball single over the shortstop which scored Brower and Siersma to take a 4-0 lead.

The Eagles scored their lone run in the top of the seventh with a solo homerun to left field. It was only the third hit allowed by Siersma on the mound in the game. She earned the win and pitched a tremendous game holding the Eagles hitters in check. She threw seven innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits, striking out 6 and walking 1.

The Dux defense was equally good on the field. They didn't committing a single error behind Siersma. They turned a nice double play when center fielder Cortlyn Merryman made a sliding catch on her knees and then threw the Eagle out that was caught off first base. 

The Dux had hits from Fuentes, Brower, Siersma, Brinzie Kalkman, and Jordyn Smeyers, and Taylor Zwagerman.

It was a complete team effort to get their first win from Hudsonville in school history.
