The Dux came from behind to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh, but fell short in extra innings to lose 8-5 against Spring Lake Lakers 8-5.

Dux fell behind early 5-1, but kept chipping away at the lead and brought the game to a tie when Elexia Fuentes drove a fly ball to right center that was misplayed by a Laker allowing two runs to cross the plate. This pushed the game into extra innings and the international tie breaker rule. The Lakers responded and put up 3 runs with an untimely error by the Dux. Despite the loss, it was a great recovery for the Dux from the opening game and showing how they could compete with the Lakers.

Kenzie Siersma took the loss on the mound for the Dux. She threw eight innings, allowing eleven hits, striking out four, and walking two. Siersma battled the Lakers hard as they are a very disciplined hitting team. 

Dux defense was led by Siersma who had five assists from the mound. Shortstop Lily Brower and second baseman Morgan Rush each had four assists. The Dux only committed two errors in the game.

Dux offense was led by Fuentes who went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs. Siersma also went 2 for 4 including a double. Brower and Emily Brands each had a hit. 

Dux record goes to 4-6 on the season. They are back to conference action on Tuesday when they travel to Holland Christian for a double header. They are 1-1 in conference.
