Dux fall to Spring Lake in double header opener...

Dux struggled on defense in the first game against a solid Spring Lake Laker team and lost 15-1.
Freshman Emily Brands took the loss on the mound despite a good outing. She pitched five innings, allowing ten hits, striking out three and walking only one. She was throwing well and the ball was put into play, but the Dux couldn't make the plays behind her.
Shortstop Kenzie Siersma led the defense with six assists, and catcher Elexia Fuentes threw one of the Lakers out trying to steal second.
Dux offense was also a little quit in the first game only managing to get five hits. Cortlyn Merryman had a sinlge and the lone RBI. Fuentes, Lily Brower, Claire Barkel, and Morgan Rush each contributed a hit as well.
