Saturday's game against Wayland was a tough loss for Dux. They fought back to force extra innings and had a chance to close it out. The Dux had two on and no outs in the bottom of the first extra inning, but failed to plate another runner. They couldn't hold Wayland in the second extra inning and lost 11-7.
The Dux had great offensive production collecting ten hits. Claire Barkel, Kenzie Siersma, Morgan Rush, and Lily Brower each racked up multiple hits for Dux. Barkel led going 3 for 4.
The comeback was led by singles from Elexia Fuentes and Barkel and a double by Rush.
Despite the great effort, Kenzie Siersma took the loss on the mound. She surrendered nine runs on 14 hits over eight innings, striking out two.
The Dux drop to 3-4 on the season and will face West Ottawa on Tuesday for a single game at West Ottawa.
