The Dux opened the season with a victory over Covenant Christian 5-1. They took the lead in the second inning when Emily Brands doubled scoring Taylor Zwagerman, and never gave up the lead from there. The Dux and the Chargers both scored one in the fifth, but the Dux put three more on the board in the top of the seventh to seal the victory.

Kenzie Siersma had a solid performance on the mound and collected the win. She had great control as all of her pitches were working well to hold the Chargers to a single run. She threw all seven innings, striking out ten with zero walks.

The Dux defense behind Siersma was also on their game committing no errors.

Dux offense was led by Lily Brower who tallied three hits including a double and two RBIs. She was seeing the ball well and making hard contact with every at bat. Additional hits were provided by Cortlyn Merryman, Siersma, Claire Barkel, Elexia Fuentes, and Brands. 

The Dux next game is their conference opener on April 9th at home against Unity Christian.
