Dux Varsity Softball struggles in game 2 and lose to Thornapple Kellogg 10-3

The Lady Dux committed too many errors in the night cap of the double header and let Thornapple Kellogg run away with the game 10-3.
Kenzie Siersma pitched well but took the loss on the mound. She threw seven innings, only allowing four earned runs on twelve hits, striking out six and walking one.
The Lady Dux scored first with Maddie Sliva driving in two runs in the top of the third with a double. Thornapple Kellogg answered right back getting two in the bottom of the inning. They then went on to put runs on the board the next three innings by capitalizing on Dux mistakes and take a 10-2 lead. Lily Brower hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh off the center field scoreboard, but it wasn't enough to get the Dux back in the game.
Maddie Sliva led the Dux offense going 3 for 4. Brower had two hits and Sophie Zelenock, Katie Bruursema, Jordyn Smeyers, Siersma, and Cortlyn Merryman all contributed hits.
Dux are back in action at homeTuesday for conference play against Holland Christian starting at 4pm.
