Dux Varsity Softball lose lead and game to Coopersville in DH opener

The Lady Dux jumped out in front with a four run lead in the top of the third, but Coopersville fought back and won the opener of the double header 9-5.

Maddie Sliva pitched well, but took the loss on the mound as Coopersville hit the ball well and found open space in the field. She threw six innings allowing nine runs on eleven hits, walking two and striking out three.

Dux offense spread 10 hits throughout the game, but couldn't manage to string them together to plate more runs as they stranded 7 runners. Lily Brower led the Dux going 3-4. Kenzie Siersma, Sophie Zelenock, and Morgan Rush each had two hits with Siersma and Rush each having a double. Sliva had the other hit for the Dux.
