ZEELAND EAST HIGH SCHOOL: 2
The Dux came ready to play in the double header opener by scoring three runs in the 2nd inning and followed that with four more runs in the 3rd to take a 7-0 lead. East tried to cut the deficit by scoring two in the top of the 4th, but the Dux answered by adding three in the bottom of the 6th and carried that to the 10-2 conference win.
Kenzie Siersma earned the win on the mound pitching seven innings allowing only two runs on six hits, four strike outs and walking one.
The entire line up contributed to the win offensively and capitalized on mistakes made by the Chix. Dux had seven hits in the game. Siersma had two, Jordyn Smeyers, Lily Brower, Morgan Rush, Katie Bruursema and Maddie Sliva each had one.
Dux improved to 2-0 in the conference and 4-0 on the season.
