The Dux JV soccer team capped a perfect start to the first week of their season by earning their second victory in three days, defeating Black River, 7-0. Micah Henry scored 3 goals and added an assist. Also scoring for the Dux were Brayan Alonso, Pace Bittrick, Sam DiLaura and Lucas Smith. Logan Bomers, Andrew Kraft, Graham VanDort, Andrew Zimm and Gael Garcia each had one assist. Austin O'Connell had a beautiful header that found the back of the net from a wonderful cross by Evan Wiersma in the waning minutes of the match, but it was called back due to an offsides call. Lucas Smith and Reagan Page split time between the pipes for the Dux, earning their second consecutive shutout of the year. The Dux are 2-0 on the season.

"Defensively, we were very organized and made it very difficult for our opponents to get in behind us. Our midfield did a great job of winning balls back in transition, and spreading the ball around the pitch. Much better attention to details tonight on both sides of the ball. Very proud of our effort and energy, despite the heat and humidity."
