The boys varsity soccer followed took a large leap and rebounded from a big loss to Mona Shores on Tuesday and beat a very good Reeths-Puffer team 3-2.   The Dux came out very intentional with a lot of fire and grit.  They played with passion for 80 minutes tonight.  The Dux got on the board when Ivan Michmerhuizen found a rebounded ball, split 2 defenders and calmly placed a left footed shot past the keeper.  Sammy Salas followed shortly after when he beat 2 defenders and the keeper and walked in his shot to put the Dux up 2-0 in the 1st half.  Reeths-Puffer would not go away and got one back and took ahold of the momentum to cut the lead to 2-1.  The 2nd half started where it left off with Reeths putting on a ton of pressure and finally broke through to even the score at 2.  The Dux were full of fire and with just about 20 minutes left Micah Henry took a ball, beat a defender and  the keeper to put the Dux up for good.  Reeths had opportunities but the Dux stout defense kept them off of the board.  It was an exciting game to watch and the boys really responded to things we have been working on and it really showed.  Up next for the Dux is the Allegan Invitational on Saturday.  The Dux are looking to build on a great team win tonight.   Top to bottom, everyone played their hearts out and the energy was electric all game.
