After some trials the last couple of weeks the Varsity boys soccer team got back on winning ways as they defeated Black River 3-1.  In a game that could have seen many more goals from both teams the Dux escaped with the victory to claim their 3rd win of the year.  The guys played well for periods of the game and had some really great scoring opportunities.  The scoring was led of by Ethan Bosch as he took a long ball over the top of the defense and beat the keeper to put the Dux up 1-0.  That score remained until early in the 2nd half when Black River capitalized on a defensive mistake to tie it mup at one.  It remained tied until Ethan Bosch again took a through ball and rifled it past the Black River keeper to put the Dux up 2-1.  Sammy Salas finished off the scoring on a nice individual effort as he beat 2 defenders and placed a beautiful left footed shot past a sprawling Black River keeper.  We continue to work hard and need to figure out how to put a solid 80 minutes together but am pleased with our result today.
