Zeeland West Baseball defeated Cedar Springs Varsity Red Hawks 1-0 on Wednesday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Josh Agar struck out Zach Reed to finish off the game.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Dux pitchers struck out seven, while Cedar Springs Varsity Red Hawks pitchers sat down five.
Hayden Reider started the game for Zeeland West. Reider surrendered zero runs on four hits over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Alex Powers was incredible with the victory for the Dux. The fireballer went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out three. Agar threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen to close the game.
Agar, Jake Lencioni, Trenten Bolhouse, and Deklen Klamt all had one hit to lead Zeeland West.
