Zeeland West Varsity Dux defeated Grand Haven Buccaneers Varsity 7-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
In the first inning, Zeeland West got their offense started scoring two. The Dux added three more runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower by Zeeland West Varsity Dux was led by Simon Moore and Carter Hughes, both knocking in runs in the inning.
Hughes led the Zeeland West Varsity Dux to victory on the pitcher's mound. Hughes surrendered zero runs on one hit over four innings, striking out five. Agar threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen to close it out.
