The Zeeland West varsity baseball team scored seven runs in the seventh on its way to an 11-4 victory over South Christian on Friday. Zeeland West’s offense in the inning came from singles by Jake Kender, Aden DeGraaf, and Carson Gulker, a triple by Joe Steele, an error on a ball put in play by Cade Overweg, and a double by Josh Agar. Zeeland West racked up 12 hits on the day. Gulker, DeGraaf, and Agar all collected multiple hits for the Dux.
Brendan Gabrion was credited with the victory on the mound for Zeeland West. The pitcher allowed five hits and one run over five and a third innings, striking out three. Gulker threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Ethan Bosch started the game and lasted one and one-third innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out one and walking zero.
The Dux (12-3, 5-1) will travel to LMCU Ballpark to take on Fremont High School in the Tri-County Invite. The first pitch is set for 2:00pm.
