The Zeeland West varsity baseball team scored nine runs in the second on its way to an 11-1 victory over Wyoming on Thursday. Corey Holtrust, Aden DeGraaf, Josh Agar, Camden Schuessler, Jack Aalderink, and Jake Kender each drove in runs during the inning. Zeeland West pulled away for good with nine runs in the second inning. In the second Holtrust drew a walk, scoring one run, DeGraaf singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Agar singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Schuessler doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs, an error scored two runs for Zeeland West, and Kender singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Zeeland West had 12 hits in the game. Ethan Bosch, Agar, Cade Overweg, and DeGraaf each collected multiple hits to lead the Dux.
Terick DeJonge pitched Zeeland West Dux Varsity to victory. DeJonge went five innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out nine.
The Dux (11-3, 5-1) will travel to South Christian tomorrow to take on the #19 ranked Sailors.
