The Zeeland West varsity baseball team defeated Reeths-Puffer 5-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Terick DeJonge led the Zeeland West Dux Varsity to victory on the pitcher's mound. The righthander surrendered zero runs on one hit over six innings, striking out seven. Brendan Gabrion threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Zeeland West collected 12 hits on the day. Ethan Bosch, Camden Schuessler, and Aden DeGraaf each collected multiple hits to lead the offensive attack.
Zeeland West, 7-2 (2-1), will participate in the Portage Northern Invite on Saturday as they prepare to take on Schoolcraft at 11:00a and Portage Central at 3:00p.
