GRAND HAVEN HIGH SCHOOL: 10
The varsity baseball team’s effort to come back from down four runs in the fifth inning came up just short, as they fell 10-9 to Grand Haven on Saturday. Zeeland West collected ten hits and Grand Haven had eight in the high-scoring affair.
The Dux got things started in the first inning. Josh Agar singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run. In the bottom of the third inning, Grand Haven tied things up at four when an error scored one run for Grand Haven. Grand Haven then pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning.
Agar took the loss for Zeeland West. The lefty surrendered six runs on three hits over three innings, striking out two.
The Zeeland West offensive attack totaled ten hits. Ethan Bosch, Agar, Carson Gulker, and Aden DeGraaf all managed multiple hits for the Dux.
