ALLEGAN HIGH SCHOOL: 0
The Zeeland West varsity baseball team defeated Allegan 5-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. The Dux started the scoring right away as Camden Schuessler's single drove in the first run of the season. Corey Holtrust went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Zeeland West offensive attack. Josh Agar and Joe Steele also recorded hits in the game.
John Hodgson got the win on the mound for the Dux as he provided three and a third innings of work. Hodgson allowed only two hits and zero runs while striking out four. Carter Hughes added two and two-thirds innings of relief to preserve the shutout.
