The Zeeland West varsity baseball team fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 9-4 loss to Portage Central on Saturday.
Brendan Vriezema took the loss on the mound for the Dux as he allowed 11 hits and nine runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out four.
The Dux totaled six hits in the game. Both Brendan Vriezema and Caleb Kender collected two hits to lead Zeeland West offensive attack.
