The Lady Dux went in to fight at Hudsonville and did well. However, we lost to Hudsonville in 2, Grandville in 2, and Forest Hills Central in 3. Overall, it was a good tournament to face some great competition and move forward adding that learning, so we can advance in conference.

Win: 2.00 - 0.00
What a fun night! The Lady Dux raised over $700 for the cancer awareness at our Dig Pink event. Thank you to all who came out and supported. Grand Rapids Union came ready with their pink ribbons and joined in the fundraiser.
We were able to sweep GR Union in two games and were proud to support those fighting for cancer with all our efforts.
Sydney Bergsma led in kills and Kendall Ruster led in digs.

The Lady Dux started a bit slow to start the match, but fully recovered and came back quickly to beat the Wolves in 2 sets. (25-15) and (25-8). All played and put forth their best effort and gave the crowd a good show. Great work Dux!

The Dux came out very strong and beat Mona in the first game 25-17, but lost stamina and lost the following two sets. After a long weekend and week of volleyball, we put our best foot forward, but couldn't pull out the W. Next time when we are well rested, we are ready to show Mona Shores the refreshed Zeeland Dux.

The Dux came out a little shaky and lost to Allendale in 2 sets. But we were able to get our wits about us and come back to beat Grand Haven in 3 sets. They looked like a completely different team and would make any Zeeland West fan proud about their fight and determination against Grand Haven.

Dux came out strong this morning against Reeths Puffer. The lady Dux won in two sets: (25-18), (25-12). Our next opponent of the morning was Coopersville who brought their top game and we fell in two (17-25), (25-13). But we were not ready to go out without a fight. We played our final pool game against Hamilton and tied. They won the first game (25-18) with the Dux winning the second game (20-25). With pool play we only played two sets per match, so Hamilton moved forward 4th in Gold Bracket and we were placed 1st in Silver Bracket. We were determined to hold that title, as we just missed the Gold Bracket by a few points.
Once we reached Silver Bracket, we swept Wyoming and Lakeshore in two each and were the Silver Bracket Champs. Excellent work by all on the team! Now we are ready to move into our Quad on Monday.

The JV Dux came out excited and ready to show everyone how hard they have been working. The first game of the match the ladies communicated well and it showed up certainly in the numbers. The Chix were not willing to go to down without a fight. The Dux battled through and won the first game 25-23. What a fantastic game to watch.
With all that excitement, the Dux found the start of the second game out of rotation and trying to find their place. Once that got their legs under them again, they pushed hard and fought the Chix for the win, but couldn't get there in time. We lost 16-25.
The third game the Dux were ready to finish and show the Chix they were the top Zeeland team and the Chix had the same idea. It was often point for point; many back and forth volleys. The Dux put on quite the show, but barely lost to the Chix with the score of 14-16.
What a fantastic match! So much effort and excellence. Even with the loss, we are still incredibly proud of the fight the JV Dux gave the Chix. Sydney Bergsma led in kills, Kendall Ruster led in digs, and Emily Kragt led in assists.

The Dux started off the match against Forest Hills Eastern with back and forth games, but unfortunately took a loss. But that did not stop the girls from coming out strong against Thornapple-Kellogg. We were able to sweep them in two games. With a win under our belt we were ready for Unity Christian and came out strong with a 5 - nothing lead. However, we began to battle and barely lost the first game. After that we fought for the second game, but ended losing. 1-2 in the tournament was not our best showing, but we knew we had plenty to fix and work on, so we were ready to show our conference our peak performance.

This tournament was very exciting. The girls were put in Pool C and ended up undefeated out of the four teams in the Pool, which moved us to the #1 spot in the Gold Bracket. Once we were placed at number 1, we waited to play our next opponent, Coopersville, who nearly beat us in 2 games. The Dux fought hard and ended up placing 3rd in the tournament!
