The JV volleyball team picked up a key win on the road at Byron Center on Tuesday night. The Dux won in three sets 26-24, 14-25, and 15-9. With the score tied at 8 in the third, Brooklin Schafer helped win a point with an instinctive kick save. That momentum helped the Dux close out the match for the win. Kill leaders were Maddie Settlemyre with 7, Morgan O'Connell with 6 and Abby Winn with 4. Marcy Creevy recorded 13 assists. Dig leaders were Aaliyah Ybarra with 8, Creevy and Winn with 6 each, and Settlemyre, Schafer, and Ellie Zinger with 5 each. Cat O'Brien served a team high 6 aces.

The JV volleyball team earned a conference win at Holland HS on Oct. 18. The Dux were able to win in straight set (25-18, 26-24). Kill leaders were Taylor Zwagerman with 6, Abby Winn with 4, Maddie Settlemyre with 3 and Ellie Zinger with 2. Marcy Creevy recorded 15 assists and 6 digs. Aaliyah Ybarra had 8 digs.

The JV volleyball team fell to Hamilton in another three set thriller on Oct. 16th. The Dux were able to win the first set, but the Hawkeyes took the next two sets to win the match (25-18, 14-25, 12-15). Kill leaders were Abby Winn with 7, Morgan O'Connell with 5 and Taylor Zwagerman with 3. Marcy Creevy dished out 12 assists and Aaliyah Ybarra had 14 digs.

The Dux JV volleyball team fell to Holland Christian on Oct. 11. The Dux came out strong and took the first set 25-20. The Maroons came back strong to win the second set 9-25. The third game was back and forth all the way, but Holland Christian came out on top 13-15. Maddie Settlmyre led the Dux on offense with a season high 10 kills. Abby Winn also had 7 kills and Taylor Zwagerman had 4. Marcy Creevy tallied 18 assists. Aaliyah Ybarra recorded 8 digs, with Winn and Creevy contributing 6 and 5 digs respectively.

The JV volleyball team lost in three tough sets at Unity Christian on Oct. 4. The first sets were extremely close. Unity took the first set 24-26 and the Dux took the second 27-25. In set number three, Unity took control early and defeated the Dux 15-6. Offensive leaders were Maddie Settlemyre with 8 kills, Taylor Zwagerman with 7, Abby Winn with 5 and Lily Brower with 3. Marcy Creevy dished out 18 assists. Dig leaders were Aaliyah Ybarra with 6, Brooklin Schafer, Creevy, and Winn with 5 each.

The ZW JV volleyball team defeated Zeeland East on Oct. 2. ZW jumped out to early leads in both sets winning 25-12, 25-22. Abby Winn led the attack with 8 kills, while Lily Brower and Morgan O'Connell contributed two kills each. Marcy Creevy recorded 6 assists and Abigail Eckert had 3. Creevy and Aliyah Ybarra led the way defensively with 6 digs each.

The Dux lost a close first set 23-25, but came back strong in the second and third winning 25-16 and 15-11. Taylor Zwagerman and Abby Winn led the way with 8 kills each. Maddie Settlemyre had 4 kills and Lily Brower, Ellie Zinger and Cat O'Brien had 2 each. Marcy Creevy set for the Dux, totaling 18 assists. Winn and Aaliyah Ybarra led in digs with 6 each.

Abby Winn led the Dux with 6 kills. Morgan O'Connell, Taylor Zwagerman, and Maddie Settlemyre added 3 each. Marcy Creevy handed out 15 assists. Defensively the Dux were led by Creevy with 11 digs, Winn with 9 and Aaliyah Ybarra with 5.

The Dux JV volleyball team fell to Holland Christian on Tuesday night by a score of 19-25, 19-25. ZW played with great effort and enthusiasm, but was unable to overcome a strong performance by HC. The Dux were led offensively by Maddie Settlemyre and Taylor Zwagerman with 4 kills each. Marcy Creevy recorded 10 assists and 6 digs. Defensively, Aaliyah Ybarra posted 11 digs, and Ellie Zinger added 4. The Dux play again Thursday night at OK green rival Hamilton.

The ZW JV volleyball team competed in the Spring Lake quad on Saturday, Sept. 15. The Dux went 2-1 with wins over Reeths Puffer (25-14 25-19) and Spring Lake (14-25, 25-20, 15-4). The Dux fell to Hamilton (25-19, 18-25, 5-15). Kill leaders on the day were Maddie Settlemyre with 11, Morgan O'Connell with 9, Ellie Zinger with 7, and Abby Winn, Taylor Zwagerman and Cat O'Brien with 6 each. Marcy Creevy and Abigail Eckert led the Dux in assists with 25 and 7 respectively, while Aaliyah Ybarra led the way defensively with 18 digs.

The Zeeland West JV volleyball team opened up conference play with an exciting win over Unity Christian on Tuesday night. The Dux jumped out to an early lead taking the first set by a score of 25-19. Unity Christian was able to win the second set 25-23 to force a decisive third set. The Dux played very well down the stretch and won the final set 15-11. Marcy Creevy played an excellent match for ZW recording 20 assists, 10 digs and 8 aces. Leading the attack were Abby Winn with 7 kills, Maddie Settlemyre and Lily Brower with 6 kills each, and Taylor Zwagerman with 4. Aaliyah Ybarra added 11 digs for the Dux defensively. The JV team will be back in action this Saturday at Spring Lake. Go Dux!

The JV volleyball team competed in the Allendale invitational on Saturday. In pool play the Dux lost to Caledonia (12-25, 23-25) and split with both Coopersville (20-25, 25-20) and Wayland(27-26, 17-25). The Dux won set one vs Wayland by only one point due to a 27 point cap in place during pool play. That one point proved to be important as the Dux advanced over Wayland to bracket play based on that win. In the first round of bracket play ZW lost to conference rival Unity Christian(15-25, 13-25). Kill leaders on the day were Maddie Settlemyre with 11, Cat O'Brien and Ellie Zinger with 7 each, and Taylor Zwagerman and Abby Winn with 6 each. Marcy Creevy totaled 25 assists, and Maddie Settlmyre led the way in digs with 9. The Dux will get a rematch with Unity Christian this Tuesday at home starting at 5:00. Go Dux!

On September 5th ZW competed in the East Grand Rapids quad. The Dux won in come from behind fashion against Lowell (26-24, 26-24). ZW lost its next two matches to EGR (10-25, 18-25) and Zeeland East (25-14, 24-26, 6-15). Kill leaders were Abby Winn with 8 kills, Ellie Zinger with 6, Lily Brower with 5, and Cat O'Brien with 5. O'Brien also contributed 7 service aces. Marcy Creevy handed out 19 assists, while Ybarra added 11 digs.

On August 30th the Dux traveled to Portage Central. ZW lost three tough matches to Schoolcraft (22-25, 25-23, 12-15), Portage Central (15-25, 20-20) and Harper Creek (19-25, 25-21, 11-15). Leading the attack was Abby Winn with 15 kills. Cat O'Brien, Morgan O'Connell and Maddie Settlemyre chipped in 4 kills each. Abigail Eckert led the way setting with 15 assists. Aaliyah Ybarra tallied 14 digs and 5 aces.

On August 18th the Dux played their second tournament of a back to back set at Coopersville. In pool play, ZW split with coopersville (16-25, 25,16) and defeated Tri County (25-17, 25-21) and Grant (25-20, 25-23). In bracket play ZW was eliminated by Coopersville in a close match (22-25, 21-25). Kill leaders were Cat O'Brien and Taylor Zwagerman with 13 each, Ellie Zinger with 11 and Maddie Settlemyre with 9. Marcy Creevy handed out 43 assists on the day, and Aaliyah Ybarra had 13 digs.

On August 17th the Dux traveled to Wyoming. The team went 1-2 on the day with a win over Hopkins (25-13, 25-13) and losses to Forest Hills Eastern (11-25, 11-25) and Hudsonville (14-25, 20-25). Kill leaders on the day were Abby Winn, Taylor Zwagerman, and Ellie Zinger. Aaliyah Ybarra led the team in digs, and Marcy Creevy led the team in assists.
