Girls 7/8 Creekside Basketball vs. Muskegon Middle School

The 7th grade basketball team came up just short against Muskegon, losing by one point in overtime. The Dux made an impressive comeback in the second half to force the overtime, including two clutch free throws by Kara Bartles. Despite the loss, the Dux gained valuable experience by playing in such a closely contested game. Leading scorers for the Dux were Lindy Gulker, Ally Yonker, Kenzie Spitters, Marissa Ybarra, Kara Bartles and Reese Geurink. The Dux will look to bounce back at home vs Cityside next week on Wednesday.
The 8th grade team lost a tough battle to a physical Muskegon team. Leading scorers for the Dux were Abby Winn, Cassidy Wiersma, Ali Holman, Taylor Zwagerman, Tia Martinez, Mya Anderson, and Gracie Erdman. Cassidy Wiersma and Taylor Zwagerman were dominating on the boards while Anna Girman and Avery Vugteveen played with great energy on the defensive end. The Dux are in action again at home on Wednesday, Feb 21 as the take on Cityside.
