The JV girl's water polo team had another strong showing and defeated Forest Hills on Thursday night 11-7. The game started fast with Zeeland taking a 3-0 lead early in the first quarter but Forest Hills responded with a 3-1 run to end the quarter. The Dux and Chix rallied back with a five goal run in the second quarter that proved the difference in the game.
Chelsea Engelsman was the team's leading scorer, putting the ball in the back of the net six times. Rylee Fowler added two more. Annika DeYoung had a team-high two assists. Meanwhile, Kayla Trevino and Kelsy Toth led the team defensively with two steals each.
The team plays again tomorrow in the Jenison Two-in-One tournament. They will get to play at the same time and against similar opponents as their varsity teammates.
