The 7th grade boys soccer team jumped out to an early lead over Hudsonville yesterday on a goal put in by Sam DiLaura in the first half. Trigve Elkins punched another goal home on a beautiful cross from Andrew Kraft. Three minutes later Elkins was taken down in the box giving him a free pass from the penalty stripe making it 3-0. But the Dux weren't done yet. Ben Kuening received the ball in the corner, crossed it to the center where Landon Demint pushed his way through to find the back of the net. The final score was Dux 4 and Eagles 1. Way to go Dux.

In the 8th grade match, the Dux earned their second shutout of the season with a hard fought 2-0 victory over the Eagles of Hudsonville. Sammy Salas scored in the first half off of a beautiful slotted cross from Josh Overzet as the Dux took a 1-0 lead into the second half. The Dux made it 2-0 midway through the second half when Andrew Edwards intercepted an Eagle pass near midfield and delivered a nice thru ball to Josiah Faucher who gathered the ball and fired a shot from 25 yards out that looped up and over the keeper's fingertips.

The Dux midfield (Josiah Faucher, Joey DeWeerd, Andrew Edwards, Josh Overzet, Virgil Keomoungkhoune, and Austin Mansaray) was solid throughout the match and used great ball movement and passing to keep the Eagles from mounting much of an attack.  The game was called with about 14 minutes to play due to an injury on the field.

Tyler Dykstra made 3 saves for the Dux. The Dux are 2-0 on the season and travel to Holland Christian next week. Way to go boys!
