The Zeeland West girls track and field team finished 2nd out of 14 teams at Saturday's Cougar Invite. Running in some of the best weather all season, the ladies seized the opportunity and ran some very good races and set many PR's on the day. Grand Haven won the meet with 109 points, followed by the Lady Dux with 79, Forest Hills Eastern in third with 74.5, Grand Rapids Catholic Central in 4th with 62, and Ottawa Hills in 5th with 56. 

Senior Olivia Kraft led the way for the Dux, taking first in the discus (121'0") and second in shot put (37'2"). Other top three finishes for the Lady Dux came from Brinley Schenk who won the two-mile with a time of 11:37.64, Emily Tummel took second in the pole vault (8'6"), and Julia Babinec in the discus (103'8"). The 4 x 100 team of Shanna Han, Alyssa Ortiz, Emily Tummel, and Tara Achterhof also finished in third with a season best time of 52.44 which is currently one of the top three times in the state. 

Other top five finishes for the Lady Dux came from Tara Achterhof in the 100 (13.53), Shanna Han in the 200 (27.93), and Julia Babinec fourth in the 100 hurdles (17.30) and 300 hurdles (52.89). For full results, with times and distances for all athletes please visit:
