The Zeeland West girls track and field team defeated Unity Christian by a score of 97-40 on a cold and windy evening at the stadium. The Lady Dux won 13 of the 17 events. The Lady Dux were led by an experienced senior class who was responsible for the majority of the day's victories. Senior Shanna Han was victorious in each of her four events, winning the 100 meter dash (13.30), the 200 meter dash (27.65), the long jump (14'7"), and she had a leg on the winning 4 x 100 meter relay team. Senior Brinley Schenk was a three event winner for the Lady Dux as she was victorious in her three events as she took the 1,600 (5:38.71), the 3,200 (12:12.32), and she had a winning leg on the victorious 4 x 800 relay.  Senior Emilie Wilson won three events, as she won the 800 (2:36.95), and had a leg on the victorious 4 x 800 and 4 x 400 relays. Senior Julia Babinec also had a good meet, winning the 100 hurdles (16.90) and the 300 hurdles (53.87). 

Other event winners for the Lady Dux included Emily Tummel winning the pole vault (8'0") and Olivia Kraft in the shot put (36'3.5"). The relay team of Cat LaPorte, Brinley Schenk, Olivia Weenum, and Emilie Wilson won the 4 x 800 with a time of 10:41.93, the relay team of Shanna Han, Alyssa Ortiz, Emily Tummel, and Tara Achterhof won the 4 x 100 with a time of 52. 81, and the relay team of Cat LaPorte, Delaynie Ward, Marcy Creevy, and Emilie Wilson won the 4 x 400 with a time of 4:33.29. 

The win puts the Lady Dux at 1-0 in the OK Green. The team will compete on two of the next four days as they compete in the Rockford Invitational on Saturday and then compete at home on Monday against Byron Center.
