The JV Girls used a strong defensive performance to propel them to a 36-26 victory over Reeths-Puffer on Tuesday night to open the season. The 1st half was a little sluggish as both teams were knocking off some of the early season rust and jitters. The Dux took a slim 15-12 lead into halftime. The Girls came out strong to start the 2nd half and were able to force some turnovers that led to some easy buckets. The Dux extended their lead to 29-20 going into the 4th and never let Reeths-Puffer get any closer than that. Leading the team with a strong offensive performance was Rhianna Bruursema with 10 points. Tia Martinez and Anna Girman both contributed 8 points a piece. Emily Brands, Avery Vugteveen, and Cassidy Wiersma both had very strong defensive performances with multiple steals and deflections between them.

The Dux next game is at Home against West Ottawa on Tuesday at 5:30.
