Girls Junior Varsity West Basketball vs. Unity Christian HS School

The JV girls basketball team fell to a tough Unity Christian team on Tuesday by a score of 33-53. West came out slow and flat in the first quarter, being outscored 14-0. The girls settled in a bit in the second quarter. With just a few minutes remaining in the half, West trailed 14-8. Unity would end the half on a 9-1 run and took a 23-6 lead into halftime. West was able to regroup at halftime, starting the second half on an 11-0 run and closing the Unity lead to just 24-17. The two teams would play even the rest of the quarter and Unity took a 30-23 lead into the fourth quarter. Despite a great effort, west ran out of gas in the fourth quarter ending with the 53-33 loss.
Abigail Eckert led the team in scoring with 11 points, including three 3 pointers. Maddie Settlemyre followed with 5 points.
