HAMILTON COMMUNITY SCHOOLS: 45
The JV girls basketball team dropped a hard fought game to the Hamilton Hawkeyes on Thursday by a score of 38-45. After falling down by nearly 20 points in the first half of the first matchup, the Dux were able to come out with much better energy in this game. West led 8-7 after the first quarter and 22-20 at halftime. The Dux came out with great energy to start the second half, extending their lead to as many as seven points early in the third. West would cling to a one point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Despite a great effort, West was not able to hold that lead, falling just short.
maddie settlemyre led the team in scoring with 13 points, followed by Abigail Eckert with 8.
Tia martinez 6 points, Anna Girman 4 points, lexi ortiz 4 points, ellie zinger 3 points.
