HAMILTON COMMUNITY SCHOOLS: 48
The JV girls basketball team fell to Hamilton on Thursday night by a score of 48-42.
the Dux came out flat in the first half, trailing 16-5 at the end of the first quarter. West continued to struggle in the second quarter, trailing 28-11 at one point. However, West would end the half on a 5-3 run to take some momentum into halftime. West turned up their defense in the second half. West allowed just 6 points in the 3rd quarter and were able to trim Hamilton’s lead to 10 after 3. The Dux would get as close as 37-40 with three minutes left, but couldn’t get over the hump.
maddie settlemyre led the team with 19 points, while Abigail Eckert chipped in with 12.
