HOLLAND HIGH SCHOOL: 56
The JV girls basketball team dropped a tough game to Holland on Tuesday night by a score of 56-55. West started the game strong, racing out to a 17-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. After a. Abigail Eckert three pointer gave the Dux a 20-8 lead, the Dutch would use an 11-8 run to close out the first half with an 11 point deficit. 3rd Quarters have been a problem for the Dux in the last two games, this time being outscored 21-10 and trailing but 2 heading into the 4th Q. Despite falling down by as many as 8 in the 4th, the Dux would battle back to take a 2 point lead with a little over a minute to play, although west was ultimately unable to hold that lead.
maddie Settlemyer let the team in scoring with 19 points, followed by Abigail Eckert’s 17 points. The team falls to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in the OK Green Conference.
