The Dux varsity team suffered its first loss of the season at the hands of West Ottawa on Saturday, 0-2. After battling to a 0-0 draw at half, the Panthers grabbed the eventual game winner off of a corner kick less than 5 minutes into the second half. The added an insurance goal after converting on a penalty kick in the waning minutes of the match.

"Our energy was good in the first half, but we were lacking quality in the final attacking third. We generated lots of chances, but our timing was off and we didn't capitalize on our early opportunities. We got a bit away from what we like to do, and West Ottawa did a great job of keeping their energy level high throughout the match. We came out flat in the second half and we paid for it early. To our girls' credit, we continued generating quality chances in the second half and did some really good things offensively. We simply could not finish today..."

The Dux drop to 5-1-2 on the season and face Grand Rapids Union on Tuesday.
