The Dux varsity soccer team finished the OK Green tournament on a high note, grounding the Rockets from Reeths-Puffer, 3-1 on Senior recognition night. All three goals for the Dux came in the first half. Abby Winn converted a penalty kick after Brooklyn Geerlings got taken down in the penalty box. Alayna Ruch gave the Dux a 2-0 lead less than 5 minutes later as her shot from the left side tucked inside the near post and hit the side netting on the far side. Abby Winn made it 3-0 after receiving a through ball from Amarra Blattner.

Grace Caywood and Samarah Arendsen combined for the win between the pipes for the Dux, facing a total of 5 shots.

"This was the perfect way to end our regular season on senior night, at home, in front of friends and family. There was simply no way that we were going to send our 11 seniors into the state tournament with anything less than a win tonight. Our girls came ready to play, and dominated a dangerous and talented Reeths-Puffer from the opening whistle. We played with tons of energy, enthusiasm and purpose tonight. Our backline stayed strong and controlled their counter-attack, while our mids did an excellent job of jumping lanes and distributing the ball efficiently."

The Dux open district tournament play on Thursday as they travel to Holland for a 6:00pm showdown with the Dutch. With the win, the Dux secured 2nd place on the OK Green - their highest finish in conference play in program history! They are 10-2-2 on the season.
