The Dux varsity soccer team ended their 2021 campaign with a disappointing loss to Wayland in the opening round of the district tournament, 4-2 in overtime. Aaliyah Ybarra scored both goals for the Dux - the first off of an assist from Zoe Grant, the second on a penalty kick to tie the game with less than 5 minutes to play. "Credit Wayland for taking care of the ball throughout the game, winning the 50-50 balls in the midfield, and capitalizing on their chances. While the outcome of this game is not what we expected, I am so proud of the resilience, effort and character of our girls throughout a very difficult and tumultuous season. We will miss the leadership and integrity of our four seniors that graduated this spring: Marielle Michmerhuizen, Leanne Wyrick, Morgan O'Connell and Aaliyah Ybarra. You will always be a part of our family, best of luck in the next chapter in your young lives!"
The Dux end the season with a record of 6-7-3.
