The Dux varsity soccer team lost a tough match to Holland Christian, 2-3. Holland Christian used a strong East wind to their advantage in the first half, taking a 3-0 lead into the half. Despite attacking into the wind, the Dux did generate some chances in the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net.

"Honestly, we possessed and moved the ball pretty well in the first half and were able to disrupt their offense a bit. Two of their three goals came off of set pieces where they were quicker to react. If we were a bit quicker to the ball, the game might have had a different outcome."

The Dux battled back in the second half, but their comeback bid fell just short. The Dux made it 1-3 near the midway point of the second half. Sam Hecht (SR) with her back to the goal, flicked a ball up and over her head towards the far post. The ball caromed off the crossbar and back into play. Kylee Winn (SR) took the ball out of the air slamming into the side of the net. 

Later, Winn took a throw-in on the right hand side. Hecht recieved it, turned to the inside playing a ball through the legs of an HC defender into Abby Winn's path. Abby (FR) fired a shot which beat the keeper between the legs and into the back of the net.

"We never stopped believing we could come back, and our kids showed some resiliency and continued to compete to the final whistle."
