UNITY CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL: 7
The Dux varsity soccer team fell to Unity Christian, 3-7. Unity held a 0-3 at half, but the Dux were able to find the back of the net in the second half. Kylee Winn (SR) delivered a corner from the left side to the far post where Gina Pung (SR) was able to fight her way through traffic and muscle the ball into the net. Leanne Wyrick (SO) delivered a timely ball to Sam Hecht (SR) inside the box. Hecht turned and fired a rocket of a shot that beat the UC keeper to the near post. The third Dux goal was scored by Kylee off of a free kick from 35 yards out on the left hand side.
"Proud of the resiliency of our team tonight, we made some uncharacteristic mistakes in the first half which Unity capitalized on. We continued to fight and were able to gain a little confidence by putting a couple in the back of the net in the second half. We will grow from this."
